Bob’s Blog ~ Burrrrrrrrrrrr

Yesterday, I went out-of-town to see a client whose 15 year old, freezer-installed pallet flow system wasn’t working anymore.  In fact, the brake rollers have gotten to the point where they won’t stop anything and the pallets zoom through the system at what looks like 100 miles an hour and then are jolted to a sudden, jarring stop.

The impact shifts product on the pallet and threatens to expel products in motion onto the warehouse floor.  In other words, it needs to be fixed!  Working in the freezer (-10 degrees) for a couple of hours was interesting as different parts of my body got cold each time I went in.  My hands and face were always numb and my pen only worked for 5 minutes until the ink started freezing.  Extreme conditions, but fun work!!
